Women's Events Phoenix: Valley Women's Week, Nov 1 to 7

Women's events Phoenix roundup for election week, Nov 1 to 7, 2026: polling hours and ID, a NAWBO legal workshop, a UMOM tour and ACESDV's Thrive gala.

This week's women's events Phoenix roundup starts with the big one: Election Day. After that come a legal workshop for women who own businesses, a walk through the Valley's family shelter campus, and a masquerade that raises money for survivors. Every date and link below was checked on the organizer's own site on October 20, 2026, so click through to confirm times before you go.

Women's events Phoenix: election week, then everything else

Vote first, then go find your people. That's the whole stance of this week's list, and it's strictly nonpartisan: we don't care which bubbles you fill in, only that you know the rules well enough that nobody can talk you out of using your ballot. The rest of the week is about two things women in the Valley tend to get less of than they need, which are useful connections and a reminder that the work didn't stop when October did. Domestic Violence Awareness Month ended Saturday. The need didn't.

Election Day in Arizona: polling hours, ID and that ballot on your counter

American women have been voting for 106 years, since the 19th Amendment was ratified in 1920 (National Archives, n.d.). Arizona women got there first. In November 1912, Arizona's all-male electorate voted "overwhelmingly" for a ballot initiative giving women the vote, eight years before the rest of the country (National Park Service, n.d.). Here's how to use it on Tuesday.

  • When: Tuesday, Nov 3, 2026, 6 AM to 7 PM (Citizens Clean Elections Commission, 2026). If you're in line at 7 PM, stay in line; you still get to vote (ACLU of Arizona, n.d.).
  • Where and with what: Maricopa County, which covers Phoenix, Mesa and most of the East Valley, uses vote centers, and any registered county voter can use any one. KJZZ counted 274 locations open by Election Day to vote or turn in ballots (KJZZ, 2026). ID is required in person; it isn't required for mail voting, where your signature is checked instead (Citizens Clean Elections Commission, 2026).
  • Early ballot still on the counter? It's too late to mail it. Take it to the polls and show ID to have it counted (KJZZ, 2026).

Find a vote center, with wait times, at elections.maricopa.gov or call (602) 506-1511. A practical tip from people who've stood in that 6:45 PM line: check the wait times before you leave, pack water and a snack, and bring your ID even if you're only dropping off an early ballot. If something goes sideways at the check-in table, call the county elections line at (602) 506-1511 before you walk out the door. Outside Maricopa County? Look up your county on the Voter Dashboard at azcleanelections.gov.

Want to know what you're voting on first? Read our plain-language explainers on the 2026 Arizona propositions and the 2026 Arizona election candidates. We tell you what a yes and a no each do and who is running for what. We don't tell you how to vote.

Women's networking events Phoenix business owners and advocates can use

Most women's networking events Phoenix calendars advertise are a name tag, a drink ticket and a lot of business cards you'll never look at again. These two are different, because each one comes with a reason to be in the room.

Wednesday: NAWBO's legal guardrails session

The Phoenix chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners runs Wealth Wise Women as a monthly, business-school-style program for women who own companies (In Business Magazine, 2025). November's session, "Legal Guardrails You Don't Know You Need," is on Wednesday, Nov 4, at National Bank of Arizona in Phoenix, and the chapter says non-members are always welcome (NAWBO Phoenix, 2026). The time and ticket price live on the Eventbrite page, not the chapter site, so check there.

The topic is the stuff owners tend to learn about only after they needed it: contracts, entity structure, the clause you skimmed. (Ask anyone who's been through a partnership breakup.) If you run a business alone, a room full of women who've already made the expensive mistakes is worth more than any webinar.

Saturday: Thrive, a masquerade with a mission

The Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence (ACESDV) supports the programs, advocates and communities that serve survivors across the state, and Thrive is its signature annual fundraiser. This year's theme is "Beyond the Surface," a masquerade-inspired evening with a cocktail reception, mystery boxes, a wine pull, a plated dinner and program, and a live auction, from 5 to 9 PM at Arizona Broadway Theatre, 7701 W. Paradise Lane, Peoria (ACESDV, 2026).

Peoria is a drive from Mesa. It's also the one night this fall when the people who fund, staff and advocate for Arizona's survivor services are all in the same building, which makes it one of the more useful women's networking events Phoenix has if that's your field (or the field you want to be in).

Quieter things to do in Phoenix this week for women

Not everything has to be a gala. Two of the best things to do in Phoenix this week for women ask for an hour and an open mind.

Friday: walk through UMOM

UMOM New Day Centers runs a family emergency shelter in Phoenix, and its monthly campus tours are an in-person look at why families lose housing and what it takes to get them back into it. November's tour is Friday, Nov 6, 10 to 11 AM; UMOM's other campus tours meet at 3333 E. Van Buren St. (UMOM New Day Centers, 2026). Register through the link in the table so they know you're coming.

Here's why it belongs on a women's rights list: housing is where a lot of women's crises land. A layoff, a medical bill, a partner who controls the money. Seeing what the safety net actually looks like is a good antidote to arguing about it in the abstract.

Go in curious, not as a tourist. Ask what they need donated this month, ask what the waitlist looks like, and leave your phone in your pocket. (Families live there. It's their home, not a backdrop.) Of all the things to do in Phoenix this week for women, this is the one most likely to change how you vote on housing questions in the future, whichever direction that turns out to be.

All week: Suffs, still

The suffrage musical runs at the Hormel Theatre, 1825 N. Central Ave., through November 29, 2026. The ASL and audio-described performance is Friday, Nov 13, at 7 PM (The Phoenix Theatre Company, 2026). Good post-election therapy, whichever way your week goes.

Women's events Mesa AZ this week (and the honest gap)

We checked East Valley calendars again for women's events Mesa AZ this week. Nothing women-focused and Mesa-hosted cleared our bar: a date and time posted by the organizer. The AAUW East Mesa branch, for one, still shows only its 2025 to 2026 meeting calendar (AAUW East Mesa, n.d.), so we didn't list a November meeting we couldn't confirm. Mesa does get Election Day, though: every Maricopa County vote center is open to you, including the ones in your own neighborhood.

So what does a Mesa woman actually do with this week? Vote close to home on Tuesday. Treat Friday's UMOM tour or Wednesday's NAWBO session as your one trip into Phoenix. Then save the Nov 10 certificate info session, which is on Zoom, for a quiet afternoon at your own kitchen table.

We'd rather tell you there's a gap than pad the list. Most women's events Phoenix groups post cluster near downtown and Central Avenue, and the East Valley deserves better than that. If a Mesa organization posts a confirmed date, it goes on next Sunday's list of women's events Mesa AZ this week, no favors required.

Coming up next week and deadlines

Next week is lighter, and two of the best items are free.

The VA fair is for women veterans going through midlife changes like perimenopause and menopause, with speakers and resource tables from the clinic's women veterans program managers and women's health psychologists (Phoenix VA Health Care System, 2026). Our stage-by-stage guide to how long menopause lasts is good homework.

The certificate is free, needs no law degree, and trains women who are already their community's go-to person to guide neighbors through legal problems; Cohort 2 runs January 11 to June 7, 2027 (Women's Foundation for the State of Arizona, 2026). The set-aside clinic helps people with an Arizona conviction on their record (Community Legal Services, 2026). And the Live Your Dream Awards are cash education grants, typically $1,000 or more, for women who head their households (Standard-Examiner, 2026).

Want a standing date? Central Phoenix NOW's next chapter meeting is Monday, Nov 23, at 6 PM, and NAWBO Phoenix's December Wealth Wise Women workshop is Wednesday, Dec 2. Those are the women's networking events Phoenix groups have already put on the calendar (Central Phoenix NOW, 2026; NAWBO Phoenix, 2026).

Questions people ask

What women's events Phoenix organizations are hosting Nov 1 to 7, 2026?

NAWBO Phoenix's Wealth Wise Women legal workshop on Wednesday, Nov 4, a UMOM New Day Centers campus tour on Friday, Nov 6, at 10 AM, and ACESDV's Thrive fundraiser in Peoria on Saturday, Nov 7, 5 to 9 PM. Suffs also runs all week at The Phoenix Theatre Company.

How does Election Day fit around women's events Phoenix groups hold this week?

Nothing on our list is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov 3, so vote first. Polls are open 6 AM to 7 PM, any Maricopa County vote center works, and you need ID in person. If you're in line at 7 PM, stay in line.

Where are the women's networking events Phoenix business owners can attend in November?

NAWBO Phoenix's Wealth Wise Women session, Legal Guardrails You Don't Know You Need, is Wednesday, Nov 4, at National Bank of Arizona in Phoenix, and non-members are welcome. The December session is Wednesday, Dec 2.

Is ACESDV's Thrive gala one of the women's networking events Phoenix advocates attend?

Yes, if survivor services are your field. Thrive is the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence's signature annual fundraiser, held Nov 7, 2026, 5 to 9 PM at Arizona Broadway Theatre in Peoria. Tickets are sold through ACESDV's ticket link.

Is the UMOM campus tour a good pick among things to do in Phoenix this week for women?

If you want to understand family homelessness in the Valley, yes. The November tour is Friday, Nov 6, 10 to 11 AM, and you register online through UMOM's events page.

What if I can't find women's events Mesa AZ this week?

We couldn't confirm a women-focused event hosted in Mesa for Nov 1 to 7, 2026. Mesa voters can use any Maricopa County vote center on Nov 3, and next week's free WFSA certificate info session on Nov 10 is online.
