This is your women's events Phoenix roundup for Oct 25 to 31, 2026: what's on, what's free, what's due, and who to call. Every date, time and link below was checked on the organizer's own site on October 20, 2026. Plans shift, so click through before you leave the house.

Women's events Phoenix: what's worth your week

If you do only one thing this week, vote early, because Friday is the last day to do it in person in Maricopa County. Then pick one event that feeds you, not five that drain you. This roundup is for women in Phoenix, Mesa and the rest of the East Valley who want to show up for their rights, their careers and each other in the last full week before an election without burning out. We list what we could confirm with the people running it, and we leave out what we couldn't.

It's also the final week of both Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A lot is happening.

You don't have to do all of it.

The calendar: things to do in Phoenix this week for women

Here's the whole week on one screen: every one of the things to do in Phoenix this week for women that we could confirm with the host. When a cost says "not listed," the organizer's page doesn't give one, so call or email before you go.

Why each one matters to women in the Valley

Why these five and not the fifty other things on Eventbrite? Because each one connects to something that actually moves women's lives here: the vote, money, custody law and community power. If you've been searching for things to do in Phoenix this week for women that mean a little more than brunch (no shade to brunch), this is where we'd start.

Sunday: Suffs for a dollar, because the vote was won

Tonight, The Phoenix Theatre Company stages a pay-what-you-can community night of Suffs, the Tony-winning musical about the American women who fought for the vote. The minimum is $1, there's a limit of six tickets per household, and the promo code is AZNOW, according to the listing from Central Phoenix NOW (Central Phoenix NOW, 2026). The chapter's one-line pitch: "The vote was not given, it was won."

Can't make Sunday? The regular run continues at the Hormel Theatre, 1825 N. Central Ave., through November 29 (The Phoenix Theatre Company, 2026). (Seeing it nine days before an election is either very inspiring or very on the nose. Probably both.) If the show leaves you wanting the real history, our women's rights timeline runs from Seneca Falls to now.

Monday: a NOW meeting you can attend in slippers

Central Phoenix NOW, the local chapter of the National Organization for Women, meets monthly to organize on women's rights issues. This month's meeting is online at 6 PM, and the listing says everyone is invited, members or not (Central Phoenix NOW, 2026). That matters if you live in Mesa or Gilbert and a weeknight drive to central Phoenix is the reason you never go. Questions go to the chapter at (602) 271-9019.

It's a low-stakes way to find out what local organizers are actually working on, which is rarely what your feed says they're working on.

Wednesday: a career day at Dress for Success

Dress for Success Arizona's stated mission is "to empower women to achieve economic mobility by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life" (Dress for Success Arizona, 2026). Its Fast Track to Career Success event, presented by ADP, runs 11 AM to 2 PM Wednesday at its office, 3110 N. Central Ave., Suite D-200, in Phoenix. The page doesn't list a price or a sign-up link, so call 602-489-7397 to save a spot.

Why is a career event on a women's rights site? Because money is freedom of movement. It's the ability to leave a bad job, a bad lease or a bad relationship on your own timeline, and every policy fight we cover eventually comes back to it.

A paycheck is a civil rights issue wearing business casual.

Thursday at noon: coercive control, explained by a lawyer

For years, Arizona custody fights turned mainly on physical abuse. This year, Gov. Katie Hobbs signed the Alec and Lydia Act, named for two children killed during an unsupervised visit with a parent. It expands the state's definition of domestic violence to include coercive control and makes it harder for a parent who committed domestic violence to get unsupervised parenting time (KJZZ, 2026).

Community Legal Services says that under HB 2995, "coercive control is now recognized as a form of domestic violence." In its free 30-minute Zoom webinar, an attorney explains which behaviors between parents may count and how they can affect legal decision-making and parenting time orders (Community Legal Services, 2026). It's legal information, not individual advice. If someone else can see your devices, think about joining from a phone or computer they can't check, or skip the webinar and call one of the confidential lines at the bottom of this page.

Also Thursday at noon: a free legal advocacy certificate

Yes, the same hour. Pick one; this one has a backup date.

The Women's Foundation for the State of Arizona, with Innovation for Justice and the Legal Empowerment and Advocacy Hub, runs the Women's Legal and Self-Empowerment Certificate for women who are already the person their community calls when something goes wrong. It's free, and no law degree or legal background is required. You need a volunteer or staff connection to a community-based organization, and Cohort 2, which runs January 11 to June 7, 2027, has a focus on rural and tribal communities across Arizona (Women's Foundation for the State of Arizona, 2026). Miss Thursday's session and there's one more on Tuesday, Nov 10, 3 to 4 PM.

This is the kind of thing that changes a town quietly. One trained neighbor who knows how an eviction notice or a protective order works can save a dozen women a very bad month.

Women's events Mesa AZ this week: the East Valley view

We went looking for women's events Mesa AZ this week, and here's the honest answer: the strongest options are online or in central Phoenix. The AAUW East Mesa branch, for example, has only its 2025 to 2026 meeting calendar posted on its site, so we're not listing a date we can't confirm (AAUW East Mesa).

Most women's events Phoenix organizers post happen within a few miles of Central Avenue, and this week is no exception. That's less bad than it sounds. The NOW meeting, the coercive control webinar and the certificate info session all happen on Zoom, which means three of this week's six listings work from Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler or Queen Creek with zero parking. For the in-person events, Suffs and Dress for Success are both on North Central Avenue in Phoenix.

So the realistic version of women's events Mesa AZ this week is a laptop, a mug and a Zoom link. We'll keep checking East Valley calendars every Sunday, and when a Mesa group posts a date it can stand behind, it goes on this list. And if you're in Mesa and need help rather than an event, A New Leaf is right there (number below).

Voting deadlines this week

Arizona's general election is Tuesday, Nov 3, 2026. In Maricopa County, which covers Phoenix, Mesa and most of the East Valley:

Find a vote center at elections.maricopa.gov or call (602) 506-1511. Want to know what's on the ballot before you go? Our nonpartisan guide to the 2026 Arizona propositions explains what a yes and a no each do. We don't tell you how to vote.

Where to find women's networking events Phoenix-wide after this week

Looking past Saturday? A few dates are already set. NAWBO Phoenix, the local chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners, holds its Wealth Wise Women session "Legal Guardrails You Don't Know You Need" on Wednesday, Nov 4, at National Bank of Arizona in Phoenix, and the chapter says non-members are always welcome (NAWBO Phoenix, 2026). Central Phoenix NOW's legislative meeting is Sunday, Nov 15, 10 to 11 AM, and its next chapter meeting is Monday, Nov 23, at 6 PM (Central Phoenix NOW, 2026).

Those are the women's networking events Phoenix organizers have actually posted, as opposed to the ones that live only in a group chat. Next Sunday's roundup covers election week and those events in detail.

Deadlines coming up

Saturday, Oct 31 closes out Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. That day we're publishing a guide to breast cancer support groups in Phoenix, because awareness months end and diagnoses don't.
